Alexa-Rae Havison

Alexa-Rae Havison is a film and theatre actress based in New York City. She believes that acting and visual art can be used as a lens to tell a story. There is always a lesson to be learned from any movie, even if that movie is over the top or too dramatic. The easiest way to learn empathy is from sitting down and putting yourself in the shoes of the characters on the screen, even if it is only for a few minutes.

The most important thing to Alexa-Rae is people, and the value that each person has. She knows that everyone on set is there with a purpose, and the set cannot function without any one of those roles. Her faith in God and her identity as a Christian has not only influenced her love of people, but her determined work ethic, and humbled her with honesty. “His presence never leaves us, so bringing that into my work allows me to have this sort of freedom, and also be able to remain calm when situations are hard and crazy.”

Whether Alexa-Rae is on set, in a rehearsal room, or backstage, she always does her best to remain positive towards all of those around her. She knows when to be professional, but also when to be more relaxed and able to joke around. That is one of the many reasons she always comes to set prepared. If she does not know her lines and have her character already developed, she knows that would impact the atmosphere of the set, and extend to those around her. When she comes with a positive attitude, and the knowledge of her lines, she has more time to have deep conversations with fellow cast members, as well as the crew.

Alexa-Rae is currently looking forward to playing Kensley in the Urban Planet Pictures’ production, “Swipe Right.”
